(x) Do a 5k

COLOR ME RAD:
Team: Crayola Goes Splatt

I had so much fun doing the color me rad run. I did the track around Qualcom Stadium with my friend Aubree and her friend Kim in our white clothes and colorful tutus while volunteers threw color bombs on us. The money raised all went to the special Olympics. We had a fun time all while raising money for a good cause. I'd definitely do another charity run again soon!! Maybe the Zombie run next??

(x) Get my RDA

After jumping through all the hoops to get my RDA, I finally got it!!
First I had to fill out a crazy long application to apply to take my practical exam. Once accepted to take the exam I had my date and awaited my test. I was so nervous when I went into take my practical exam. Once I left the exam I felt confident I passed. One week later I got the letter in the mail that I had passed!!
Next step I had to schedule my written exams. There were two: The RDA and the Law and Ethics. Both I had to take on different days. Within two weeks I had passed both of those and had to await my RDA Certificate.

Here it is!! Hard work payed off!

NOW TIME TO APPLY FOR HYGIENE SCHOOL

(x) Visit White Sands in NM

Rising from the heart of the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders- the glistening white sands of New Mexico. Great wave like white dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert, creating the worlds largest gypsum dunefield. There is both plant life and desert animals that live in the white sands. What a beautiful sight to see!!

ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO SEE THE WHITE SANDS IF EVER IN NEW MEXICO!!

(x) Visit Carlsbad Caverns, NM

Rocky slopes and canyons, cactus, thorny shrubs, and the occasional tree, who would have guessed the amazing treasure deep underground? Beneath this rugged land are more than 119 known caves
--all formed when sulfuric acid dissolved the surrounding limestone.
The Carlsbad Caverns were an Amazing sight to see!! To see the amazing beauty of the cave and how nature had formed it was so much fun. First you walk in and take the elevator down to the bottom and the temperature immediately drops so cold. Once your inside you have to whisper or talk low because your voice really carries.

Zach and I in the Caverns:

It was a beautiful sight to see!!  I definitely recommend this National Park as a Must Do while in New Mexico

(x) Spend the Summer in New Mexico With My Boyfriends Family

This summer vacation was so different from all of the summer vacations I have ever had. I went to a small town Hobbs, New Mexico to visit my boyfriends family and really get to know all of them. Because it was a small town and most of his family lived there, I got to meet them all and visit them often. I loved having all his grandparents so close and getting to take turns visiting all of the family members.
New Mexico was different than i'm used to. Instead of going to the beach in my free time we would go to the boys house (Zach's friends house) and play board games. Personally I love board games, LOVE THEM, but I have never played so many in a short period of time.
The town was small and almost all shut down at 10pm. The fun thing to do at night was to play dominoes with grandma, and man did she wipe the floor with me!
While I was there we celebrated GranBoddy's (Zachs grandmother) 80th birthday!! I was so lucky to be apart of that! This family is so much fun, in that they take family photos for big occasions such as this---And I love taking pictures!! They welcomed me into the photos like I was part of the family! I love them as my own so quickly.

This was one of the crazy pictures! Well we had more crazy than normal and that was a lot of fun to do!

One of my favorite photos was a couples photo that Zach and I shared with his fun parents!

Another fun fact that I found out about New Mexico is that everyone has turtles in their yards!! And you even seeing them walking on the side of the highway all the time. I couldn't believe how many I had seen here. In San Diego there are not so many turtles here unless you go buy one for a pet.
Here is the male that is in Zachs yard. He is roughly about 20 years old!!! I also didn't realize they live so long!

With the fun also came the work. I worked as a pet sitter some days and Zach worked at Applebee's as a server. On the weekends was the tough work! We went to Zach's Aunt Nancy and Uncle Dave's house in Roswell, New Mexico to stucco their house. It was a great opportunity to lean a new skill but in the hottest of weather. I't was no easy task for the two of us either. It took the whole summer to compete the house. But we built some character in the process. ;)

While in New Mexico my family came to visit me and meet Zachs family. I loved their visit out, even though it was so short.  While there my nieces desperately wanted to visit Roswell, NM and see the alien exhibits. During the visit we did run into a few aliens along the way...

I'm so thankful my family made it out to visit in Hobbs, NM and got to experience a little bit of what I got to!

Here's my lovely family and I at the Living Desert (small desert animal zoo).

Last, but not least, I got to experience a "real 4th of July." In San Diego it is illegal to set off ant fireworks that are bigger than sparklers so I got to set some off in New Mexico where it is legal. It was a lot of fun seeing them so close and being part of the action. Though it was pretty dangerous with the boys being somewhat reckless...I guess boys will be boys!

We had $600 worth of fireworks here:

Well that was my fun summer in Hobbs, New Mexico. What a trip and tons of memories I get to keep form that!
Thanks Hobbs Family!!

(x) Write a Pen Pal

Next on my bucket list was to write a pen pal. I went online to figure out how to find a pen pal and that is when I found the website PenPalWorld.com. From there I could search for the age and sex of who I wanted to talk to. I wanted to talk to a female that was around my age. Next I wanted to meet people from outside of the United Stated so I chose by country. My first search was Ireland and the first person I met was Jessica, I have been writing her for a couple months now and it has been a fantastic experience. I have Met someone from Ireland, India and Canada. I mostly talk to Jessica from Ireland though. It's great to learn about her culture and how things are done over there and also the similarities we both have. She has sent me letters, post cards, a pictures, a rock from Italy and a Euro ( the type of money they use). I have learned so much from her and what she loves about her country. She is an amazing person in that she has an open mind, shes adventurous, she is so positive and so far we seem to believe in the same things and have the same morals. It's been so great to get to know someone from so far away that is so alike me. I have a huge desire to travel all over the world and Ireland has always been at the top of my list. She has offered her home to me when I do decide to travel there and I have offered her my home when she comes to California. I really can't wait to see what more comes of the new relationship!

&& the best part is getting a mail that is not a bill once in awhile!!

(x) Have a Star Wars Marathon

I am happy to say that I have finally watched Star Wars! My boyfriend finally sat me down and we watch them all in a couple days. I actually liked them all and liked to see the differences in effects from the 70's and 2000.  Now I no longer have to be embarrassed when the topic is brought up--I can now say I have seen them.
